I can’t tell you how many times my Mom has wanted to collect everyone’s photos from an event or a trip, and how every time the process feels like pulling teeth. I use Dropbox, my sister has photos on Facebook, my Dad’s are on Picasa – it’s a mess. In light of this problem, might we suggest:
Filepicker.io-enabled cross-service photo bucket
This would be a cinch to code up since Filepicker.io takes care of all the api integration for you, but it would be incredibly useful. It would basically be a gallery of images that have been uploaded with a big “Upload” button where people could pull in files to the shared bucket using Filepicker.io. You could even make it so people could take the photos others had uploaded and save it to their personal cloud storage using the Filepicker.io saveAs functionality in our javascript library. Throw it behind a unique, shareable URL and you’d have a great service. Hey, if you tied it to our earlier idea of Photo Printing you might even have yourself a company!
We can keep coming up with inspirations all day, but if you have ideas as to neat integrations with Filepicker.io that we should suggest to the community, let us know in the comments. And as always, if you need anything or have built something cool to show off, don’t hesitate to reach out!
